The market snapshot
One page: who could do your role, how many there are and where, with what we could not measure on the same page.
McMurry & Hughes is an outside recruiting desk. When a role is hard to fill, we research the market beyond the places you usually search, show you what is there, and then recruit for you in it.
Most searches cover the city, the job boards and the agencies you already know. For a hard role, the right person is often just outside them.
So the same names come back, and every day the role stays open costs money.
Work out what yours costsWe work on one role at a time, in three stages. You see what we found before you decide anything.
We find out where people who could do your role actually work, including cities, countries and language groups you do not usually search. We count them, and we write down what we could not find out.
One page for one role: how many people could do the job outside your usual search, where they are, and what we do not know. Free, before you commit, and yours to keep. If you want more depth before deciding, a full market map is priced per role.
If you want to go ahead, we contact those people ourselves, interview them against your standard in the language the role needs, and introduce the ones worth meeting, with a list of who we ruled out and why.
All five need to be true. If the last one is not true yet, we cannot help with this role, and we would rather tell you here than after weeks of searching. You are still welcome to write: we will tell you what would need to change.
Read the full fit check| 01 | You hire repeatedly | The same or similar roles, over a year or more. |
| 02 | You have a clear standard | You would rather leave a role open than hire the wrong person. |
| 03 | Your own market is small for the role | Location, language, sector or pay leaves only a few people near you who could do it. |
| 04 | You have no large recruiting team | Hiring is often run by founders and line managers. |
| 05 | You can employ someone who is not local | This one is essential. You need a company entity, an employer of record or a contractor arrangement already in place. We do not provide any of these. |
A market snapshot before you commit to anything, a short proposal if you want to go ahead, and a written summary of every person we introduce.
One page: who could do your role, how many there are and where, with what we could not measure on the same page.
What we will do, what we will not do, and what we still do not know about your market.
Written by whoever did the interview. What we verified, what we did not, and who we ruled out.
Filled: one client. Outlined: the other seven companies, five of which appear once.
Role, experience, place and pay first. The name follows when they agree to talk.
Recruiting is where most people start. Behind it are the other McMurry & Hughes companies: research, PCRecruiter systems and clean data. Use one, combine a few, or keep them running monthly.
Every setup can be changed. On the services page you can build your own from the same blocks and send it to us.
Build your own setup See all servicesTell us one role and where it is based. We ask one question back: can you employ someone who is not local?
If we can take the role on: one page for it, free, before you commit. You keep it whether or not we work together.
If you want to go ahead: your standard, the pay, the process, and who decides.
We introduce the people worth meeting, with notes from our interviews and a list of who we ruled out.
